Flowers make people feel good. We use them to say: “Thank you.” “Congratulations on your new baby.” “I’m thinking of you.” “I’m sorry I set the house on fire.” “I love you.” We put them on the table in our homes to welcome friends. “Hello.” We put them on caskets before sending loved ones to their final home. “Goodbye.”
I am an artist, so I use flowers as my medium. I work hard. I practice, I fail and sometimes I succeed. It’s how I get to express myself and say what I want to say. Which is mostly just “Life is beautiful.”
Seeing pictures of a garden is not the same as walking through it. You can’t feel the warm sun, or be seduced by the aroma-therapy of bee balm or catmint. But maybe some flower browsing in 2D will make your day a little more beautiful. Today my flowers say, “Thanks for visiting.”
Love the blog…your photos are so inspiring. As I look out into my parched, late-season gardens, I am in awe of your talents. Having had the opportunity to work with you in other creative ways, I wonder if there isn’t anything at which you are not talented. When will we be seeing some of your painting creations, or is that another blog?
Thanks for developing yet another way for me to spend time on the internet. : )
Thank you thank you. I was thinking of throwing some painting things into the mix in the winter months. I was also thinking of doing sketches for people. So anyone could send me photos of their problem area and I could do a quick sketch to show something I might try to improve it. I have examples that I plan to post. I need to spend a few days writing and collecting images from a very disorganized photo library.
