About Jan Meissner

I am an artist. I’ve worked in advertising as an art director and still do from time to time. It’s a tough business, but then so is gardening. Anyone who’s planted a barberry bush or moved 5 yards of mulch knows this. I share my gardening ideas with Fine Gardening and HGTV from time to time so maybe my garden will look familiar. If you like my ideas feel free to say so. If you don’t, you can tell me you hate it. I have thick skin. Did I say I work in advertising?

I’ve gardened in the midwest for 5 decades. Zone 5/6. A few years ago I added a garden in Tampa. I am a total zone 9 rookie. It’s introduced a whole new level of thorns and pain. Not to worry. I am a gardener.

Love the blog! Your pictures are beautiful and so are you! As your neighbor in Tampa, I must say that you are an expert gardener here too! Your front and back yard are the prettiest in our community!

Thanks for visiting Natasha! I will talk about inside stuff too from time to time too. Thanks for compliments. You are overly generous. Have you seen the annuals in the front right now? Not good. I’ll fix it when I’m back in October.
